The Olympics have taken over my life. Well, that and Teen Wolf.  I spend my evenings now watching all the Olympics I missed while at work and refreshing tumblr and crying at how perfect Tyler Hoechlin's face is.   I don't know what's going to happen to my life next week when Teen Wolf and the Olympics are over.  I suspect more crying.

It's been a month since I moved back home.  Possibly the worst month in my life.  Okay, so that may be an exaggeration. But it's close.  The other day I changed a light bulb in the bathroom and everyone freaked out like it was some kind of miracle.  Apparently the bulb has been out since sometime last winter and no one thought to change it, they just learned to live with a slightly dimmer bathroom.  I also learned that they go through an 18 ounce jar of peanut butter a week.  Because my older brother eats 3-4 peanut butter sandwiches a day.  And that boys (at least the boys that I have lived with) are in capable of changing the toilet paper roll.  But they certainly can put the new roll on top of the tank.  What hell is that about?  I don't understand.

My bank account likes it though.  And that is the important thing.  The end game here is to save up a good down payment so I can get a house. The goal is March/April. Nine months.  I can do that.  I hope.   When not engrossed in water polo (which, I have watched about 3423 hours of this sport in the last week and a half and I still don't get it.  It seems like the point is to see how many people you can almost drown without getting a penalty) and teenage werewolves I am looking at houses on the internet.  It's kind of depressing.

Last weekend I discovered that I had cracked the screen on my Kindle and now it's worthless.  It's not even heavy enough to be a paperweight. I want to get a replacement, but I am torn about which ereader to get.  I loath Barnes and Noble and don't want to get a Nook, but I hear they are awesome?  I don't need to have a touch screen, and I don't need to have one that can play games too.  I already have a smart phone and a computer.  I just want to read my books and fic.

I've seen a few people mention in the last few days how much they miss the sense of community on LJ/DW now that a lot of fandom has migrated to tumblr and twitter, and I have to agree.  tumblr is great fun, but it's so hard to get a conversation going without losing the thread, and for me personally I have little opportunity to tweet during the day and by the time I get home it seems the conversation has ended.  I guess being in bandom so long kind of spoiled me.  I wasn't really in the thick of things, more a lurker really.  But there was always some discussion happening somewhere, some good meta, or a concert report or just a random post about someone's new hair cut, or that 30 second clip of an up coming song that we all got to over analyze and squee about.  I haven't had an all consuming fandom experience like that since.  My fandom's now are Teen Wolf and Avengers, and they are great, but they are mostly on tumblr (atleast I haven't seen a huge LJ/DW presence and if I have missed it please let me know!), and yeah.

I guess this is me saying, Hey you guys! How are you?  What's new? Tell me things. :D?
