Dec. 30th, 2012 06:06 pmHave I really not updated since September? Jeez. Anyway. Hey guys, what's up? I've been reading the flist fairly often, but I've been crap at commenting. Most of my time is spent on my tumblr, hit me up there so I can reblog all your stuff, k?
Some things that have been happening, the condensed version:
Harry Potter is on TV, so I am going to go watch that instead of being productive.
Some things that have been happening, the condensed version:
- Was going to go back to school, but the financials didn't work out. Super disappointing.
- We had a blizzard about a week ago and I am drowning in snow. :(
- J is being a douche again.
- My family is driving me crazy and I am planning on moving out in the next two months

Aug. 8th, 2012 08:03 pmThe Olympics have taken over my life. Well, that and Teen Wolf. I spend my evenings now watching all the Olympics I missed while at work and refreshing tumblr and crying at how perfect Tyler Hoechlin's face is. I don't know what's going to happen to my life next week when Teen Wolf and the Olympics are over. I suspect more crying.
It's been a month since I moved back home. Possibly the worst month in my life. Okay, so that may be an exaggeration. But it's close. The other day I changed a light bulb in the bathroom and everyone freaked out like it was some kind of miracle. Apparently the bulb has been out since sometime last winter and no one thought to change it, they just learned to live with a slightly dimmer bathroom. I also learned that they go through an 18 ounce jar of peanut butter a week. Because my older brother eats 3-4 peanut butter sandwiches a day. And that boys (at least the boys that I have lived with) are in capable of changing the toilet paper roll. But they certainly can put the new roll on top of the tank. What hell is that about? I don't understand.
My bank account likes it though. And that is the important thing. The end game here is to save up a good down payment so I can get a house. The goal is March/April. Nine months. I can do that. I hope. When not engrossed in water polo (which, I have watched about 3423 hours of this sport in the last week and a half and I still don't get it. It seems like the point is to see how many people you can almost drown without getting a penalty) and teenage werewolves I am looking at houses on the internet. It's kind of depressing.
Last weekend I discovered that I had cracked the screen on my Kindle and now it's worthless. It's not even heavy enough to be a paperweight. I want to get a replacement, but I am torn about which ereader to get. I loath Barnes and Noble and don't want to get a Nook, but I hear they are awesome? I don't need to have a touch screen, and I don't need to have one that can play games too. I already have a smart phone and a computer. I just want to read my books and fic.
I've seen a few people mention in the last few days how much they miss the sense of community on LJ/DW now that a lot of fandom has migrated to tumblr and twitter, and I have to agree. tumblr is great fun, but it's so hard to get a conversation going without losing the thread, and for me personally I have little opportunity to tweet during the day and by the time I get home it seems the conversation has ended. I guess being in bandom so long kind of spoiled me. I wasn't really in the thick of things, more a lurker really. But there was always some discussion happening somewhere, some good meta, or a concert report or just a random post about someone's new hair cut, or that 30 second clip of an up coming song that we all got to over analyze and squee about. I haven't had an all consuming fandom experience like that since. My fandom's now are Teen Wolf and Avengers, and they are great, but they are mostly on tumblr (atleast I haven't seen a huge LJ/DW presence and if I have missed it please let me know!), and yeah.
I guess this is me saying, Hey you guys! How are you? What's new? Tell me things. :D?

Jul. 9th, 2012 10:13 pm Hi! I have yet to really grasp how to have conversations on tumblr, but I am full of feelings about the most recent episode of Teen Wolf, so I am going to put it all on here. Woo!
( CAPS LOCK. AND I'M FOGETTING THINGS. BUT HOLY FUCKBALLS, SHIT GOT REAL. )

Jun. 9th, 2012 10:12 pmI'm stuck at my mom's, who has a super fast internet connection but the oldest slowest computer ever and it's literally making me crazy. Pages are loading so slowly it might as well be dial up. :(
But, she has central air conditioning and it's something like 90 degrees tonight, so I chose comfort over convenience. Tumblr is effectively useless because all the .gifs take a million years to load and AO3 is having issues. But my brother has the first 9 issues of the new 52 of ...all the Batman related titles, so I am going to read them. \o/

Jun. 9th, 2012 02:42 pm Just saw Battleship. Or That One Time Riggs and Landry joined the Navy and Brad Colbert was Inexplicably Riggs Older Brother.
( No, really. )
I think I might have just spoiled myself for The Avengers. Not sure because I hit the backbutton pretty quick and I don't really want to go looking to confirm if what I saw really was what I saw. So, I'm kinda just sticking my fingers in my ears and covering my eyes for the next week or so until I'm able to see the movie.
Unless of course my curiosity gets the best of me before then.

Apr. 26th, 2012 07:15 pm So this morning at work on my way to my desk I pass the large shelving unit that serves as our "mailboxes" for faxes, internal memos and the like, and something in my box catches my eye. Way in the back there is a small black...something. I honestly have no idea what it is, so I start to pull out my shelf attempting to reach it and the ...something moves. I take a moment to flail a bit and then I realize it's a bat!
I don't know what to do, I don't want to wake and have it flying around the room, and I don't want to hurt it. I go and talk to my Supervisor and after a few disbelieving moments he contacts the grounds people (?) who come in and capture it and then take it away.
I don't know what they did with it, I hope they called animal control or something, took it to someone who could care for it and make sure it was okay and maybe release it back into the wild. I have no idea.
It didn't take long for word to spread around the building that there was bat. I got a bunch of emails about and people came by my desk to ask about it. Today will forever be known as Batday. :D
Long story short: There was a bat in my mailbox and I am now being called Batgirl at work. \o/

Apr. 20th, 2012 06:40 pm So, uh. I've been having a bad day. Sorry to anyone who saw my ranty post earlier (it's been locked). I just, yeah. Things have been stressful as fuck lately and J called me this morning before my brain was functioning properly and we had a fight and there is other stuff too that I don't want to get into now. But suffice it to say it's messed with my head a bit.
This week has just over all been no good.

Apr. 18th, 2012 10:25 pm 2012 is officially WEDDING YEAR in my world. Aside from the two weddings I am in, there are three upcoming weddings (well, two weddings and one commitment ceremony/civil union if you want to be technical. THERE ARE TUXES AND VOWS AND CAKE AND ALSO PEOPLE WHO ARE IN LOVE. IT'S A WEDDING. Sorry, I have ~feelings that sometimes are best expressed in Capslock.)
Anyway. Weddings. And I am reminded that I have no other single friends. Co workers I am friendly with and casual acquaintances who are single and could possibly eventually become my friends? Sure, lots of those people are single. But someone I am close enough to and am not horribly awkward around who I can ask to accompany me to a wedding of two people they don't know? Yeah, no.
And going to weddings alone is awful. (I did that in October, it sucked more than anything has sucked ever) But I can't not go to my friends weddings, that is just not cool. I would feel terrible if I skipped out on an important day in their lives just because I felt awkward being alone.
SIGH. I guess there isn't really a point to this post, just me whining about being single.

Apr. 12th, 2012 06:25 pm As the release date for The Avengers gets closer I think i am going to have put myself on a tumblr ban so I don't spoil myself. It opens what, April 27th in other countries? Something like that.
Normally I don't worry about spoilers too much (ever since I was spoiled for Half Blood Prince anyway. I was in quite a state for a few weeks after that one) but my excitement level for The Avengers is almost at terminal velocity, and I don't want to ruin this feeling.
Plus, I am not going to able to see it until May 6th, at the earliest, because Ryan and Heather are getting married on the 5th, so that day is out. I tried to make him see reason and move his wedding date, but he wasn't going for it. >.> And I have to work on the 4th, and then there will be the rehearsal and all that in the evening. And I am too old to go to the Midnight show and then get up for work at 6am. Just, not gonna happen. So. Sunday May 6th - sometime in the afternoon? I don't know. And, Ryan is my default movie buddy (seriously, we see everything together) and I think he may be busy that day, so I might have to go alone. :(

Yeah, that just happened.
Mar. 25th, 2012 08:44 pmSebastian Stan just guest starred on Once Upon A Time as the Mad Hatter.
It was glorious and I need to see it a million more times. He wore leather pants ( and this is a very minor spoiler ). *_____*
Ugh, I need to get a paid DW account so I can have all the Bucky icons.

This weekend was full of fail and heartbreak. :(
I've been halfheartedly trying to get into the swing of tumblr. It's different and fast. But I appreciate all the pretty. I still feel like a little kid looking in the candy store windows though.
I should be in bed, but I am busy watching Holmes on Homes on TLC and developing a crush on Damon. He is very attractive and I like his accent. /o\
Why isn't there an Avengers hospital AU yet? Think about it, Fury is the Dean of Medicine, Tony is the hotshot Cardiothoracic surgery genius (and also the hospital is named after his parents) Natasha does Orthopedic (cause she likes the sound of bones crunching. :D?) Bruce is an Oncologist (c'mon!) Thor is a Neuro whiz on loan from Sweden (or whatever), Coulson is the chief of Surgery, Steve works in Pediatrics, Clint is in plastics. Bucky is an anesthesiologist. Darcy works in Radiology, Jane is a pathologist, but mostly does research, and Thor always seems to have a case that relates to her field and he desperately needs her to consult. Basically, it's Grey's Anatomy :D? :D?
Here, have a friending Meme!

Mar. 5th, 2012 10:51 pmApparently I've been doing a good job at work lately so today my boss gave me a nifty little spiral notebook with a pen and silly putty. Both with our company logo on them.
I IRL flailed over the silly putty. It was a little embarrassing, but I don't even care. My company has its own silly putty. That is beyond fantastic. :DDDD
eta: edited for grammar fail. :(
